ITF HQ-USA Women’s Committee Announcement

Our Women’s Committee is designed to help women to become leaders in the Taekwon-Do community. From Ethiopia we have our first official member.
Her name is Meaza Gashaw.
With extensive experience in ITF Taekwondo, both in leadership and technical capacities, she will bring valuable contributions to the development and promotion of women’s participation in the sport.
Currently, she serves as General Secretary of the Ethiopian Taekwondo Federation (since June 2020), where she oversees national operations, coordinate events, and maintain international relations.
Before this, she worked as a Committee Member at the Addis Ababa Elite International Taekwondo Federation (2017–2020), supporting athlete development, event planning, and club management.
She also has significant international experience, including traveling to Zimbabwe to deliver an official ITF Instructor Course, where she provided coaching and technical instruction to local Taekwondo instructors. In addition, her background as a judge/referee for four years and as a competitor and champion for five years has given her a comprehensive understanding of the needs and challenges faced by athletes, particularly women, in the sport.
Meaza is deeply committed to advancing women’s representation and empowerment within Taekwondo, and voluntarily wishes to contribute her expertise, passion, and leadership skills to the Women’s Committee.
